Maintenance & Preventive Maintenance: Ensuring Uninterrupted Performance

"Like any sophisticated medical device, your ECP machine requires regular maintenance and preventive maintenance (PPM) to ensure optimal performance, longevity, and patient safety. Adhering to the manufacturer's recommended PPM schedule is crucial for avoiding costly breakdowns and maintaining uninterrupted patient care.

Investing in scheduled maintenance saves money in the long run by preventing major repairs and extending the life of your ECP system. Neglecting PPM can lead to unexpected downtime, compromised treatment effectiveness, and potentially increased costs."

General Preventive Maintenance (PPM) Checks for ECP Machines:
"The following are typical checks and adjustments performed during routine preventive maintenance of an ECP machine. Please consult your specific manufacturer's guidelines for detailed procedures and schedules."

General Cleaning:
  • Cleaning and disinfecting the external surfaces of the machine.
  • Cleaning any internal areas that are accessible.

System Integrity & Leak Checks

  • Visual inspection of all hoses, tubing, and connections for cracks, leaks, or wear.
  • Pressure testing to identify any internal leaks within the pneumatic system.
  • Verification of cuff integrity and proper inflation/deflation.

Electrical System Inspection

  • Checking power cords, plugs, and grounding for safety and integrity.
  • Testing electrical components for proper function and voltage.
  • Inspection of circuit boards and connections for corrosion or damage.

Pneumatic System Maintenance

  • Inspection and cleaning or replacement of air filters.
  • Calibration of pressure sensors and regulators.
  • Lubrication of moving parts as specified by the manufacturer.
  • Testing of the air compressor functionality.
.

Software & Calibration

  • Software updates and diagnostics to ensure optimal performance.
  • Calibration of pressure and timing parameters to maintain accuracy.
  • Verification of ECG synchronization and triggering accuracy.

Cuff , Bladder and hose Maintenance

  • Cleaning and disinfecting of the cuffs.
  • Checking for wear and tear, and replacing as needed.
  • Testing the sensors within the cuffs for accuracy

Emergency Stop & Safety Features

  • Testing the functionality of the emergency stop button.
  • Verification of all safety interlocks and alarms.
  • Testing of the patient monitoring systems
